This issue features H.G. Wells's "The First Men in the Moon," serialized in three parts with Part I beginning on page 774, following explorers who venture to the moon's interior where they encounter a superhuman insect civilization. Edwin Balmer and William B. MacHarg contribute "The Man Higher Up," a scientific detective story. Racy Isaacs writes "The Time Eliminator." A. Hyatt Verrill offers "Through the Crater's Rim," with content expanding on lunar adventures. "The Lord of the Winds" by Augusta Bissell, Samuel M. Sargent Jr.'s "The Telepathic Pick-Up," and Charles S. Wolfe's "The Educated Harpoon" comprise additional science fiction offerings. The issue reprints Fitz-James O'Brien's classic "The Diamond Lens." Garrett P. The cover features a mysterious illustration for which readers are invited to submit original stories, with $500 in prizes offered.
