All-Story Weekly, Vol. 104 No. 2

· November 29, 1919

A man in a flat cap and orange-striped tie stands arm-in-arm with a woman in a wide-brimmed hat trimmed with white flowers — both painted in the breezy Edwardian manner of shipboard romance, railing and rigging visible behind them. The bold yellow sans-serif logotype All-Story Weekly dominates the upper half; a lower banner announces A Buccaneer in Spats by Achmed Abdullah, crediting him as author of The Blue-Eyed Manchu. All-Story, founded by Frank Munsey, was among the wood-pulp weeklies that ran Edgar Rice Burroughs and shaped the serialized adventure genre — the storytelling DNA comics would directly inherit. Cover artist unconfirmed.
