# Air Stories, March 1939
This British aviation pulp magazine features five stories centered on military flying and aircraft. The lead story, "Test Pilots Are Tough" by G.M. Bowman, concerns Bill Bradley, a test pilot and race pilot, who enters a 1000-pound cup race at Hendon aerodrome in a monoplane troubled by wing-shudder. Also featured: Hugh Standish's "The Stolen Fighters," a tale involving the Irish Troubles and a child's toy airplane that saves a squadron leader from court-martial; "Winged Rivals" by Wilfrid Tremellen, about rivalries at a flying school; and "Bristols for Two" by O.P.F. Landers, depicting RFC fighter pilots on the Western Front. The issue includes a continuing personal narrative "Airmen at War" by Lieutenant-Colonel L.A. Strange describing his wartime aerial experiences, alongside technical features on specific aircraft including the Supermarine Spitfire.
