· December 23, 1926

This 1926 Adventure magazine issue contains five works of fiction across varied settings. "The Pennsylvania Line" by Wilkeson O'Connell, a complete novelette, depicts American Revolutionary soldiers of the Pennsylvania Line stationed at Morristown in 1781—their deprivation detailed through dialogue about insufficient rations, clothing, and pay while they await General Mad Anthony Wayne. "Mandarin Honor" by Charles Gilson is a complete novelette set in China exploring cultural codes of subtlety. Leonard H. Nason's "The Goldbricker," a short story about World War, concerns a soldier's craving for cheese. Walter J. Coburn's "The Fallacy of 'Faro'" is a Western short story examining conscience. The issue also contains Part V of Gordon Young's serial "Treasure" set in the South Seas, and the concluding installment of F. R. Buckley's serial "The Way of Sinners," set in medieval Italy. Additional non-fiction articles and regular department pieces appear.
