This issue of Adventure contains five fiction works spanning multiple genres. "The Wolf Pack," a complete novelette by Raymond S. F. R. Buckley's serial "The Way of Sinners" (Part II) is set in medieval Italy and concerns a young mercer's turn toward the sword. W. Townend's "At Eliza's" is a maritime short story centered on a sailor's father in Genoa. Arthur D. Howden Smith's "Hanno's Sword," a complete novelette, concerns the "Gray Maiden" striking for Hannibal's forces. J. D. Newsom's "Retreat" is a World War story about a Cockney soldier. The issue opens with Judson Hanna's poem "The Sons of Reuben," a biblical-themed meditation on wanderers and adventurers.
