This issue of Action Stories (Spring 1948, Vol. XVIII No. 11) contains five western and adventure pulp stories. The featured work is William Chamberlain's complete novel "Vengeance in My Holsters," following grim Steve Handrahan as he pursues a three-year-long vendetta trail to locate his father Idaho Red's killer, a man named Parker Strange. Handrahan receives a cryptic letter directing him to Round City in the Mogollon Valley. Additional stories include Allan K. Echols's "Gun-Sight," William Heuman's "Boot-Hill for Sod-Busters," William J. Glynn's "Gambler's Draw," Dan Cushman's "Blood-Spoor of the Devil-Stones" (an adventure featuring the character Armless O'Neil), and Rollin Brown's novelet "Ghost-Rider of Hang-Tree Basin." The issue also includes advertisements for educational correspondence courses and U.S. Savings Bonds.
