Pulp Magazine Cover, 1960

· September 1960

This is not a pulp magazine but a U.S. Air Force intelligence report (ATIC Form 329, dated September 1952) documenting a UFO sighting. The document records a visual observation from October 1952 near Grand Forks, North Dakota and Fargo. Witnesses included civilian airport traffic controllers and Air Defense Operations personnel, all noted as reliable. The object—described as green-white, dime-sized, and oval—was observed descending rapidly. Multiple independent observers reported the sighting, including civil aircraft crews landing at Fargo Airport at distances up to 135 miles north and south, plus witnesses at Duluth airport and U.S. Coast Guard personnel near Lake Superior. The preliminary analysis concludes the sighting was probably a large meteorite or astronomical phenomenon, though the possibility of a dust sighting could not be excluded. The widespread, corroborating accounts suggest an object at considerable altitude and large size.
