This document is a declassified U.S. Air Force intelligence report concerning unidentified flying objects sighted near Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 17, 1952. Lt. Colonel Frank M. Allen submitted the report to the Air Force Flight Service Center. Two state highway patrolmen observed luminous, fluorescent objects at approximately 3,000 to 5,000 feet altitude for thirty minutes. The objects initially appeared stationary before exhibiting north-south movement. An investigation noted B-29 aircraft were refueling in the vicinity and considered this as a possible explanation, though the report's preparer questioned whether refueling aircraft could account for the stationary appearance and extended observation period. No physical evidence or intercept action resulted from the sighting.
