This document comprises official U.S. Air Force investigation records from Project Grudge, dated July 1949, investigating an aerial object sighting near Dayton, Ohio on July 10, 1949 at approximately 1915 hours. The investigation details interviews with multiple witnesses who observed a yellowish object in the southeastern sky at 30-45 degrees elevation. Initial observations suggested a disc shape, but binocular examination revealed two connected objects: a yellow diamond with a black center spot, tethered by rope or cable to a whitish-yellow disc or oval form behind it. Most interviewed witnesses eventually concluded the object was a box kite, though primary observer estimates suggested it was larger than an F-60 aircraft at approximately 1000 feet altitude and three miles distance. The object remained stationary throughout a fifteen-minute observation period. Investigation records confirm the Airdrome Office received the report at 1915 hours; control tower inquiry yielded no confirmation.
