# Museum Catalog Note

This document is a U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations report dated July 1949 concerning Project Grudge Incident No. 22. It documents an alleged flying saucer sighting near Castleton, New York on April 6, 1949.

The witness was Ray Werking, a school bus driver for Columbia Central High School, observed near Stony Point, approximately two miles north of Castleton. At 7:55 AM, while stopped to check for schoolchildren, Werking reported seeing three metallic, disc-shaped objects in formation flying eastward toward Boston. He described them as silvery, approximately twenty inches in diameter, resembling polished auto hub-caps, spinning rapidly while moving slowly through the air. The objects disappeared into or behind a cloud after approximately one minute of observation. The report includes detailed investigative forms, witness statements, and official correspondence between military intelligence divisions, indicating formal government documentation of the civilian UFO report.
