This Dutch etching mocks French military defeat through the allegorical figures of Pasquin and Marforio—stock characters from Roman satirical tradition—who ride a blind horse-drawn cart toward disaster. The blind horse represents foolish leadership; the cart carries heraldic emblems and military insignia toppling into chaos. Printed as a broadside with accompanying verse in Dutch and French, the work exemplifies the popular spotprent (satirical print) tradition of the Low Countries during the War of Spanish Succession.
