Hypericum anagalloides Cham. & Schltdl.

This is a pressed herbarium specimen, not a political cartoon or caricature. The sheet displays two dried specimens of Hypericum anagalloides (tinker's penny, a small creeping St. John's wort), mounted on rag paper with roots intact, collected near the headwaters of the Columbia River in 1825 and formally determined by botanist N.K.B. Robson over a century and a half later. It belongs to the Natural History Museum, London, Department of Botany. No satirical tradition, printmaking technique, or caricature content is present or applicable.
