Cuphea lysimachioides Cham. & Schltdl.

This is a herbarium specimen sheet, not a political cartoon or caricature. It shows pressed and mounted botanical specimens of Cuphea lysimachioides (Lythraceae) collected in Paraguay — specifically from the Cerros de Tobaty and the Cordillera Central — by Dr. Emil Hassler during his 1900 plant-collecting expeditions. Multiple stems with opposite leaves and small tubular flowers are pinned flat. Labels record collector, locality, date, and a 1998 taxonomic revision by R. Duré and J. Molero. A color-calibration chart and metric scale bar appear at lower center. This object belongs to natural history documentation, not the print-satire tradition descending from Hogarth, Gillray, or Daumier. No wall label for a caricature exhibition can honestly be written for it.
