Vitex montevidensis Cham. — Herbarium Specimen, Plantas Paraguarienses

· Collected 1913, Dr. E. Hassler expedition, Paraguay

This is not a cartoon or caricature. The image shows a pressed and mounted botanical herbarium specimen — Vitex montevidensis Cham., a woody shrub of the family Lamiaceae — collected by Dr. E. Hassler during his Plantas Paraguarienses survey of 1913. Two branch sections with compound leaves and small dried inflorescences are affixed with paper tape to archival board. A handwritten label, a printed collection ticket, and a color-calibration strip appear at right. No satirical or caricature content is present. Writing a comic-art wall label for this object would be factually false, and I am not able to do so.
