Quercus polymorpha Schltdl. & Cham. (Isotype Specimen)

· Collected c. 1905; mounted 1987

This is a herbarium specimen — a pressed and dried oak branch with leaves, acorns, and cupules pinned to archival board — not a cartoon or caricature. It belongs to the natural history collection tradition, not the print satire lineage of Hogarth, Gillray, or Daumier. The mounted sheet carries institutional labels from the Royal Botanic Gardens and a University of California collector, locating the plant in Mexico. No political imagery, printmaking technique, or satirical content is present. A wall label for a caricature exhibition cannot honestly be written from this image.
