Pinus patula Schiede ex Schltdl. & Cham.

· Collected c. 1833

This is a pressed herbarium specimen of Pinus patula, the Mexican weeping pine, mounted on archival paper — not a cartoon or caricature. The sheet shows dried branches bearing characteristically long, pendulous needles and small cones, with handwritten and printed collector labels including a Herbarium Mexicanum ticket. It belongs to the tradition of natural history documentation rather than print satire. No satirical figures, political targets, or printmaking techniques associated with Hogarth, Gillray, or Daumier are present. A wall label for a caricature exhibition cannot honestly be written from this image.
