Just Dog by Dickey

A two-panel strip following a small dog's attempt to join a group of larger dogs on a fence. In the first panel, one dog urges the others to hurry lest they miss the gathering; in the second, after the small dog's failed jump, the fence remains empty except for the determined pup below. The strip employs the visual conventions established by newspaper comics: bordered panels, speech balloons, and a recurring animal protagonist whose comic appeal derives from physical action and social predicament.
