Zinken Hopp
Signe Marie "Zinken" Hopp was born on 9 January 1905 in Norway. A versatile writer, poet, and playwright, she is best remembered for her children's book *Trollkrittet* (1948). Her career spanned multiple genres, including cultural-historical works, poetry, and travel stories, and she also translated children's books. From 1947 to 1971, she served as a theater reviewer for the newspaper *Aftenposten*. In the comics world, Hopp is credited as a writer on 12 issues between 1948 and 1987, primarily for Norwegian editions of *Illustrerte Klassikere* (Classics Illustrated) and related series such as *Mine Klassikere* and *Stjerneklassiker*. She also contributed to *Globis vidunderlige reise*. Her work in adapting classic literature for these illustrated formats helped bring timeless stories to a new generation of Norwegian readers. Hopp died on 3 September 1987, leaving behind a legacy as a key figure in Norwegian children's literature and a bridge between literary classics and sequential art.
