Yuzo Takada
Yuzo Takada, born Yūji Takada on March 21, 1963, in Edogawa, Tokyo, is a manga artist best known for blending the supernatural with action and comedy. After assisting Fujihiko Hosono, he debuted his first work in *Young Magazine* in November 1983, followed by his first series, *Tokonatsu Bank* (1984–1985). His signature style—detailed, kinetic, and steeped in mythological lore—propelled him to fame with the long-running *3×3 Eyes*, which won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen in 1993. He also created the supernatural thriller *Blue Seed* and the slapstick sci-fi comedy *All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku*. Notably, all three series were adapted into anime starring voice actress Megumi Hayashibara. Beyond comics, Takada contributed character designs and illustrations for video games, including Enix's *Just Breed*. His work for American publishers includes issues of *Super Manga Blast!* and *3x3 Eyes: Curse of the Gesu*. Takada remains active in the industry, with his most iconic creations—particularly *3×3 Eyes*—continuing to influence manga and anime.
