Walter Fahrer
1939–2025
Walter Fahrer, born December 10, 1939, in Argentina, was a comic book author and illustrator whose career spanned from 1973 to 2002. He is best known for his work on the series *Harry Chase*, as well as contributions to Italian publications such as *Gli Albi di Pilot*, *Champion*, *Superserien*, *Supertempo*, and *Wilson*. Fahrer’s path into comics began in Argentina, where he developed a clean, dynamic style that lent itself well to adventure and action stories. He often worked as an artist, inker, and writer, collaborating with various European publishers to bring serialized narratives to life. Among his notable co-creations is the character Harry Chase, a recurring figure in his portfolio. Fahrer’s later years saw him remain active in the industry until the early 2000s, leaving behind a body of work that reflects the transnational nature of mid-century comic production. He passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 85. While not widely celebrated with major awards, his steady output across multiple series earned him a respected place among Argentine and European comic professionals.
