Tim Vigil
1958–
Tim Vigil is an American comic book artist best known for his visceral, horror-infused work, most notably as the co-creator of the series *Faust* with writer David Quinn. Born in 1958, Vigil began his comics career in the mid-1980s, quickly establishing a raw, detailed style that lent itself to dark, supernatural themes. His signature project, *Faust: Love of the Damned*, was adapted into a 2001 film by director Brian Yuzna. Over a career spanning from 1986 to 2025, Vigil has been credited as an artist, colorist, inker, and writer on over 80 issues, with his most frequent titles including *Faust*, *Gunfighters in Hell*, and *Greater Mercury Comics Action*. He also contributed to series like *Grips*, *Cuda*, and *Faust: Book of M*. Vigil’s work is marked by a gritty, unflinching approach to horror and action, often collaborating with Quinn on their shared universe. His legacy endures as a distinctive voice in independent horror comics, influencing the genre’s visual language. Though not a recipient of major mainstream awards, his cult following and the film adaptation of his work underscore his impact on the medium.
