Thierry Frissen
Jerry Frissen, born Thierry Frissen in Brussels on June 2, 1964, is an American comic book writer and toy designer based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work on the anthology series *Lucha Libre*, the horror-comedy *The Zombies That Ate The World* (with artist Guy Davis), and *The Metabarons*, where he collaborated with artists Valentin Secher, Niko Henrichon, and Esad Ribic. Frissen’s path into comics came through his background in toy design, which informed his playful, visually driven storytelling. His style often blends genre pastiche with dark humor, and he has worked extensively within the Humanoids publishing universe, contributing to titles like *The Incal*, *Negative Exposure*, *El Niño*, *Memories*, and *Fragile*. As a creator, he is credited on 25 issues from 2001 to 2005, primarily as a writer but also handling art, coloring, and lettering. His co-creations include the *Lucha Libre* franchise and the ongoing *Zombies* series. Frissen continues to write and design, with his work maintaining a cult following for its inventive, offbeat energy. While he has not received major mainstream awards, his contributions to European-style genre comics have earned him a dedicated readership.
