Tharg
Tharg is the fictional editor of the British science fiction comic *2000 AD*, a character introduced on the cover of the very first issue in 1977. He is one of only two characters—the other being Judge Dredd—to appear in nearly every issue of the weekly anthology. Tharg occasionally steps out of the editorial page into actual stories, with strips written by notable talents such as Alan Grant, Alan Moore, and John Wagner, though these contributions are usually credited to "TMO" ("The Mighty One"). In our catalog, Tharg is credited as a writer on 19 issues between 1979 and 1986, primarily for *2000 AD* and its merger title *2000 AD and Starlord*. As a fictional editor, Tharg's legacy is inseparable from the comic's identity itself, serving as a humorous, alien frontman for one of Britain's most enduring sci-fi publications. No birth or death dates apply, as Tharg is a fictional character rather than a living creator.
