Ted Slampyak

Ted Slampyak, born in 1965 in Philadelphia, is an American cartoonist best known for drawing the syndicated newspaper strip *Little Orphan Annie* until its cancellation in 2010. A 1987 graduate of Temple University's Tyler School of Art, he began his comics career in the late 1980s, contributing to titles such as *Quantum Leap* and *Pendulum*. During the 1990s, he worked on Neil Gaiman's *Mr. Hero* for Tekno Comix and contributed to Paradox Press' *The Big Book of...* series. Slampyak also created mini-comics featuring his libertarian heroine Suzi Romaine. His original creation, *Jazz Age Chronicles*, a color webcomic set in 1920s Boston, was initially published by EF Graphics and Caliber Comics before moving online. He has been nominated for an Ignatz Award and received a local Addy Award from the American Advertising Federation. Slampyak later became an artist contributor to the blog *Art of Manliness*. He currently resides in the Netherlands.
