Stefano Tamburini was born on 18 August 1955 in Italy and died in April 1986. A graphic artist, comics author, and magazine publisher, he is best remembered as the co-creator of the punk-inspired antihero RanXerox, alongside artist Tanino Liberatore. Together with Andrea Pazienza, Tamburini is regarded as one of the most brilliant Italian comics talents of his generation. He entered the industry through the Italian underground and alternative press, where his work as a writer, artist, inker, and letterer appeared from 1977 to 1996. His most credited titles include *Yorga*, *RanXerox*, *Titanic Reeks*, and *Pox*. Tamburini’s style was raw, energetic, and deeply tied to the rebellious spirit of the late 1970s and early 1980s, often blending dark humor with social satire. His collaborations with Liberatore on *RanXerox* produced a character that became an international cult figure, appearing in multiple volumes and influencing later cyberpunk aesthetics. Though his career was cut short by his death at age 30, Tamburini left a lasting mark on European comics. His work continues to be studied and reprinted, and he is remembered as a key figure in the Italian comics renaissance of that era.
