Molly Maud Kiely (born October 10, 1969, in Bracebridge, Ontario) is a Canadian-American alternative cartoonist best known for her erotic comics. Raised in Kitchener, she attended the University of Waterloo and discovered comics through *Krazy Kat* and *Li'l Abner*. After creating her first minicomic at San Diego Comic-Con in 1991, she moved to San Francisco the following year. Her debut work, *Communion* (1992), was a collaboration with J. Hagey, published by Fantagraphics’ Eros Comix imprint. In 1993, she adapted the Marquis de Sade’s *Philosophy in the Bedroom* for Wooley Comics. Kiely’s clean line style has drawn comparisons to Aubrey Beardsley and Jaime Hernandez. Her explicit content occasionally sparked feminist criticism and, in 1995, Canadian customs confiscated her mail under the Criminal Code. She married and had a daughter in 2007, but was widowed in 2015. As of 2017, she lives in Tucson, Arizona. Her most credited works include *Saucy Little Tart*, *Diary of a Dominatrix*, and *On Your Knees Boy*. She has influenced artists like Jess Fink.
