Marc Michetz, born Marc Degroide on 15 October 1951 in Belgium, was a comics artist best known for his work on the samurai series *Kogaratsu*. He began his career in the mid-1980s, contributing as an artist, colorist, and inker across 23 issues from 1985 to 2015. His most recognized titles include *Kogaratsu*, *Tako*, and *Dupuis Aventures*. Michetz’s style blended detailed linework with atmospheric coloring, often collaborating with writer Bosse on *Kogaratsu*, a series set in feudal Japan that became his signature achievement. He co-created the series *Tako*, a nautical adventure, and his work appeared in the anthology *Dupuis Aventures*. Michetz died on 9 January 2025. His legacy rests on his distinctive visual storytelling in European comics, particularly his evocative depictions of historical settings. He received no major awards documented in available sources, but his contributions to the bande dessinée tradition remain respected among fans of adventure comics.
