Megan Wilson
Megan Wilson (born 1969) is an American visual artist, writer, and activist based in San Francisco. She is best known for large-scale installations, public projects, and street art that blend pop culture aesthetics with themes of home, homelessness, social and economic justice, anti-capitalism, impermanence, and generosity. Her practice is deeply influenced by Buddhism and Vipassanā meditation, often creating ephemeral works or pieces intended to be given away.
Wilson entered the comics industry later in her career, working as a colorist on 17 issues between 2014 and 2017. Her most-credited titles include *Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat!*, *And Then Emily Was Gone*, *All New, All Different Avengers Annual*, and *Gwenpool Special*. Her coloring work brought a vibrant, thoughtful touch to these series, complementing their offbeat and character-driven storytelling.
Beyond comics, Wilson’s public art and activism have earned her recognition as a distinctive voice in contemporary art. Her legacy is one of merging commercial and fine art practices with social conscience, creating work that invites reflection on impermanence and community. She has received awards for her contributions to visual art and activism, though specific honors are not detailed. Wilson continues to live and work in San Francisco, maintaining an active practice that spans galleries, streets, and comics pages.
