Martin Kellerman
1973–
Martin Kellerman (born 1973 in Växjö, Sweden) is a Swedish cartoonist best known for creating the autobiographical comic strip *Rocky*. Drawing from American and Swedish underground influences—including Peter Bagge, Robert Crumb, Harvey Pekar, and Mats Jonsson—Kellerman developed a style he describes as blending dark, personal comics with more commercial work, akin to a mix of underground sensibilities and *MAD* magazine.
After being fired from his job drawing for a pornographic magazine and experiencing a breakup, Kellerman created *Rocky* as a personal outlet. The strip follows a grumpy, hip-hop-loving dog and cartoonist navigating life in Stockholm, rendered in an anthropomorphic animal style. Initially not taken seriously by its creator, *Rocky* was picked up by the free newspaper *Metro* and later bounced between publications as reader complaints over its profanity and sexual content led to cancellations.
Active from 1999 to 2015, Kellerman is credited as artist, writer, inker, colorist, and letterer on 37 issues, with his most-credited titles including *Rocky*, *Rocky [samlingsalbum]*, *MegaPyton*, and *Kellermannen album*. His work remains a notable entry in Swedish autobiographical comics, though major awards are not recorded in available sources.
