Luigi Piccatto
Luigi Piccatto was an Italian comic artist and illustrator, born on 13 July 1954. He died on 14 March 2023. Piccatto is best known for his long association with the horror-mystery series *Dylan Dog*, where he worked primarily as an artist, though he also contributed as a colorist, inker, and writer. His career in comics spanned from 1987 to 2024, with his most credited titles including *Dylan Dog*, *Dylan Dog presenta - Groucho*, *Speciale Dylan Dog*, *Dylan Dog Collezione Book*, *Collana Almanacchi*, and *Maxi Dylan Dog*. His style was clean and atmospheric, well-suited to the series' gothic, noir-tinged narratives. Piccatto collaborated closely with series creator Tiziano Sclavi and other key Bonelli editors and writers, helping to shape the visual identity of the *Dylan Dog* universe. He co-created several memorable stories for the series, though his most enduring legacy is his consistent, professional work that kept the title visually compelling for decades. Piccatto’s contributions were recognized with multiple awards, including the prestigious Yellow Kid Award, and his work remains a cornerstone of Italian horror comics.
