Lorenzo Mattotti

Lorenzo Mattotti, born 24 January 1954 in Italy, is a comics artist, illustrator, and film director whose work bridges fine art and narrative storytelling. He gained international recognition in the 1980s with the graphic novel *Fires*, a visually striking work that showcased his bold, expressive use of color and fluid linework. Mattotti’s illustrations have appeared in major magazines including *The New Yorker*, *Vogue*, *Le Monde*, and *Vanity Fair*, and his comics credits span titles such as *Stigmata*, *Eldar*, and *Chimera*.
