Lars Fiske
1966–
Lars Fiske, born 21 July 1966 in Oslo, is a Norwegian comics creator and picture-book artist. He entered the field in the mid-1990s with the album *Matje: debutanten* (1996) and its sequel *Matje-ismen* (2000). Fiske is best known for his long collaboration with fellow Norwegian cartoonist Steffen Kverneland. Together they created the acclaimed *Olaf G.* (2004), which won the Sproing Award and was translated into Swedish and German. The pair also co-produced the series *Kanon*, exploring the lives of painters Edvard Munch and Kurt Schwitters. Fiske’s picture books include the prize-winning *Kom, så løper vi* (2002) and *På tre hjul* (2005). His signature style blends clean linework with expressive, often playful storytelling, and his work for the Norwegian newspaper *Aftenposten* and series such as *John Difools eventyr* and *Grosz* shows a versatility across humor, biography, and history. He is married to illustrator and writer Anna Fiske. His catalog credits him as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer on 32 issues from 1984 to 2020, with his most-credited titles including *Ærens veier*, *Herr Merz*, and *Djemilah*. Fiske remains an influential figure in Norwegian comics, known for his thoughtful, research-driven narratives.
