Kevin Huizenga was born on March 29, 1977, in Harvey, Illinois, and is recognized for his thoughtful, formally inventive comics. He is best known as the creator of Glenn Ganges, a mild-mannered everyman who appears across much of his work, serving as a vehicle for Huizenga’s explorations of daily life, memory, and perception. Huizenga came to comics through an interest in both alternative and underground traditions, and his style blends clean, understated linework with a willingness to experiment with panel layouts, time, and narrative structure. His key works include the series *Ganges*, the collection *Curses*, and the graphic novel *Glenn Ganges in the River at Night*, as well as *Gloriana: The Adventures of Glenn Ganges* and contributions to the *Kollektion Ignatz* series. He also worked on the English-language edition of *Onward Towards Our Noble Deaths*. Huizenga’s collaborators have included fellow cartoonists and small-press publishers who share his interest in literary and experimental comics. His work has earned him multiple Eisner Award nominations and a place among the most respected cartoonists of his generation. He continues to live and work in the Midwest, where his influence on contemporary comics remains steady.
