Juan Zanotto was an Italian-born Argentine comic book artist whose career spanned five decades and two continents. He was born Giovanni Zanotto on September 26, 1935, in Italy, and died on April 13, 2005. Zanotto is best known for his detailed, atmospheric artwork on adventure and war comics, with a particular emphasis on European and Argentine publications. He worked as an artist, colorist, inker, and occasionally writer on 59 issues between 1960 and 2003. His most credited titles include *Skorpio*, *På Vingene*, *Air Ace Picture Library*, *Euracomix*, *Lanciostory*, and *War Man*. Zanotto’s style was marked by a strong sense of realism and dynamic composition, often collaborating with writers and editors across the European and Argentine markets. While specific co-creations are not widely documented, his work on *Skorpio* and *Lanciostory* remains a significant part of his legacy. Later in life, he continued to contribute to the industry, leaving behind a body of work that reflects the transnational nature of mid-century comics. His contributions have been recognized within the field, though he remains a quietly respected figure rather than a household name.
