Jorge Zentner
Jorge Zentner was born on February 27, 1953, in Argentina, and is best known as a comic writer and the creator of the globe-trotting adventurer Dieter Lumpen. He entered the comics field in the mid-1980s, with his credited work spanning from 1985 to 2005 across 28 issues. His most prominent titles include *Cairo*, *Cimoc Extra Color*, and the *Dieter Lumpen* series, as well as the related stories *Zeven kogels voor Oxford* and *Sept balles pour Oxford* (both translations of "Seven Bullets for Oxford"), and *Magnum Comics*. Zentner’s writing often blends exotic locales with noir-tinged intrigue, and his key collaborator on the *Dieter Lumpen* stories was artist Rubén Pellejero, with whom he co-created the character. The series, which follows a cynical, womanizing adventurer through various international escapades, became his signature work. Later in his career, Zentner continued to write for European comics, though his output slowed after the early 2000s. He has not been widely recognized with major awards, but his contributions to Argentine and European adventure comics remain noted by enthusiasts.
