Benton began his comics career in the mid-1980s, contributing to magazines such as *Cracked* and *Writer's Digest*. Over the decades, he has worked as an artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer on more than a dozen titles, including *Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?*, *Fann Club: Batman Squad*, and his own *A Blurmp in Time*. His style is characterized by bold, simple linework and a deadpan, mischievous sense of humor that appeals to both children and adults.
Benton's work has earned him a devoted following, and his creations have been licensed extensively for books, toys, and apparel. He continues to be active in the industry, with credits spanning from 1984 into the 2020s. While his awards are not widely cataloged, his influence on humor-driven, all-ages comics and licensed properties is significant, cementing his place as a distinctive voice in American pop culture.
