Janusz Christa
Janusz Christa was a Polish comic book creator best known for his humorous adventure series *Kajko i Kokosz* and its predecessor, *Kajtek i Koko*. He was born on 19 July 1934 in Wilno and died on 15 November 2008 in Sopot. Christa debuted in 1957, and his work appeared regularly in magazines such as *Wieczór Wybrzeża* and *Świat Młodych*. His signature style blended lively cartooning with slapstick and medieval fantasy, and he served as writer, artist, colorist, inker, and letterer on his stories. He stopped creating new material in the 1990s due to declining health. In later years, his books saw renewed popularity in Poland; notably, *Szkoła Latania* (*Flying School*) became the first comic book added to mandatory school reading lists. Christa’s work received foreign translations into English, French, Ukrainian, and even Esperanto beginning in 2018. His catalog includes over sixty credited issues, with key titles such as *Kajtek i Koko*, *Gucek i Roch*, and various *Kajtek i Koko* subseries.
