J. S. Lewis
Jon Samuel Lewis (born May 15, 1972) is an American author who writes under the name J. S. Lewis. He is best known as the co-creator of the *Grey Griffins* series, a middle-grade fantasy adventure originally published by Scholastic. The trilogy has sold over 850,000 copies. Lewis later continued the story with the *Grey Griffins Clockwork Chronicles*, published by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. In comics, he was credited as a writer on 12 issues between 2009 and 2010, most notably for the *Free Realms* series. His work often blends magic, steampunk, and friendship-driven plots. Lewis’s style is accessible and fast-paced, aimed at young readers. He collaborated with co-author Derek Benz on the *Grey Griffins* books. Beyond his novels, his comic work remains a smaller but notable part of his career. He has not received major awards for his writing, but the *Grey Griffins* series has maintained a strong readership. Lewis continues to write fiction, focusing on youth-oriented fantasy.
