Hiroshi Shiibashi
Hiroshi Shiibashi was born on June 6, 1980, in Suita, Osaka, Japan. He is best known as the creator of *Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan*, a manga series that blended supernatural folklore with shonen action and was later adapted into an anime. Before launching his own work, Shiibashi honed his craft as an assistant to Hirohiko Araki on the acclaimed series *Steel Ball Run*. His breakout success with *Nura* earned him the tenth spot on Nikkei Entertainment's 2011 list of top-selling manga artists since 2010. Shiibashi's art style is characterized by dynamic, detailed character designs and a strong sense of atmosphere, particularly in his depictions of yokai and their shadowy world. He served as writer, artist, and inker on the series, which ran in *Weekly Shonen Jump*. In his later career, he continued to work within the shonen genre, though *Nura* remains his defining achievement. While he has not received major industry awards, his work has maintained a dedicated following.
