Hans Braarvig, born 17 April 1905 in Lillesand, Norway, was a versatile writer whose work spanned crime fiction, young adult novels, and general fiction. He also wrote under the pseudonym Haakon Bjerre. In the early 1940s, Braarvig contributed to the comic book series *Damms Billedserier* (also known as *Damms Billed-serier*), where he is credited as a writer on 11 issues between 1942 and 1943. Beyond comics, he earned the Bastian Prize in 1966 for his translation work. Braarvig died on 11 February 1986, leaving a legacy as a respected Norwegian author and translator.
