Gigi Cavenago, born Luigi Cavenago on October 12, 1982, in Milan, Italy, is a comic book artist and illustrator best known for his moody, atmospheric work on the Italian horror icon *Dylan Dog* and his crossovers with Batman. He currently lives and works in Frascati. Cavenago entered comics through the Italian market, where his detailed, shadow-heavy style and knack for gothic storytelling made him a natural fit for Sergio Bonelli Editore’s flagship supernatural detective. His most prominent work includes the acclaimed *Dylan Dog / Batman* and *Batman / Dylan Dog* crossover specials, as well as *Dylan Dog: Mater Dolorosa* and *Dylan Dog presenta: I racconti di domani*. For American audiences, he is best recognized as the artist on *The Magic Order 3*, where his expressive linework and cinematic layouts brought a dark fairy-tale quality to the series. Cavenago often serves as his own colorist and inker, giving his pages a cohesive, textured look. Active in the industry from 2016 to 2025, he has contributed to 18 cataloged issues. His collaborations with writers on the Dylan Dog universe have solidified his reputation as a key modern interpreter of the character. Cavenago’s legacy remains tied to his ability to bridge Italian horror-comics tradition with mainstream superhero storytelling. He has not yet received major industry awards, but his work continues to be sought after by fans of both European and American comics.
