Frode Øverli

Frode Øverli was born on August 15, 1968, in Bergen, Norway, and has built one of the most enduring careers in Scandinavian comic strips over more than three decades. He broke into the field in 1989 and has since accumulated credits as writer, artist, inker, and letterer across nearly 280 issues, a range that speaks to his hands-on control of his work.

Øverli is best known as the creator of *Pondus*, a humor strip that became a phenomenon in Norway and across the Nordic region, spawning numerous collected volumes under the *Pondus bok* banner as well as dedicated Christmas specials in *Pondus Julehefte*.
