Franco Donatelli
Franco Donatelli was an Italian comic book artist and illustrator, best known as the regular artist on the long-running adventure series *Zagor*. Born in Alessandria on March 13, 1924, he began his career assisting Mario Faustinelli on *Furio Almirante* before briefly working at a bank. From 1946, he devoted himself fully to comics, drawing titles such as *Mistero*, *Silver Scout*, *Pecos Bill*, and *Radar*. He joined Sergio Bonelli Editore in the mid-1960s and remained with the publisher into the 1990s, illustrating *Zagor* from issue #37 through #375 of the regular series. In the 1970s, he also contributed three stories to *Mister No*. Donatelli’s clean, dynamic linework and consistent storytelling made him a reliable presence on these adventure titles. His credited work in our catalog spans 1947 to 1986, appearing in *Albi dell'Intrepido*, *Zagor*, *Mister No*, *Mister No Spécial*, *Taschencomics*, and *Tex* (including *Tex Gigante - II Serie*). Franco Donatelli died in Milan on November 11, 1995.
