Ferdinando Tacconi
Ferdinando Tacconi was an Italian comics artist, born in Milan on December 27, 1922. He earned a degree in Applied Arts from Castello Sforzesco before working as an illustrator for magazines such as *Grazia* and *Confidenze*. After World War II, he entered comics, debuting with the series *Sciuscià* and later working on projects in Italy, France, and the United Kingdom. For *Junior Express*, he contributed to *Journey into Space* and *Jeff Hawke*. Tacconi is best known for co-creating *Gli Aristocratici* with Alfredo Castelli, as well as *L'uomo del Deserto*, *L'uomo di Rangoon*, *Dylan Dog*, and *Nick Raider*. He frequently collaborated with *Il Giornalino*, where he co-created *Susanna* and *Uomini senza gloria* with Gino D'Antonio. His style was clean and expressive, well-suited for adventure and mystery. Over his career, he was credited as artist, colorist, or inker on 120 issues, with notable work on *Gli Albi di Orient Express*, *På Vingene*, *War Picture Library*, and *Air Ace Picture Library*. Tacconi died in Milan on May 11, 2006, at age 83, after a long period of poor health. His legacy endures through his influential contributions to Italian and European comics.
