Eric Schreurs was a Dutch comics artist best known for his long-running satirical series *Joop Klepzeiker*, which appeared in the magazine *Nieuwe Revu*. He was born on 15 September 1958 in Leiden, Netherlands, and died in the same city on 29 May 2020. Schreurs entered comics in the early 1980s, and his signature work—*Joop Klepzeiker*—offered a Hogarthesque, unflattering view of Dutch cities, particularly Amsterdam, mocking the permissive society of the 1980s and 1990s. The strip followed its perpetually hapless protagonist through streets lined with grime, sex shops, and free-loving park-goers, often ending in embarrassment or rejection. Schreurs frequently played with his own signature, signing as "Erich von Sckreurch" or other variations, adding layers of dark humor. He also created the series *Adrianus* and related titles, and was active as a writer, artist, inker, colorist, and letterer on 14 issues from 1982 to 2007. Later in life, he turned to painting. In 2002, he received the Stripschapprijs, the Netherlands' highest comics honor. His son Boris, known as drag queen My Little Puny, was a runner-up on *Drag Race Holland* season two. Schreurs' legacy is one of biting, absurdist social commentary.
