Enoch Bolles (March 3, 1883 – March 16, 1976) was an American painter best known as one of the earliest and most widely circulated pin-up illustrators. Born in 1883, he brought a versatile hand to commercial art, producing hundreds of vibrant color illustrations for advertising clients ranging from bread companies to cigarette brands. His most enduring commercial image is the "Windy Girl," created in 1937 for Zippo lighters; this piece has since been reissued in over 100 variations on the iconic lighter, sometimes misattributed to Alberto Vargas. In the comics world, Bolles is credited as artist, colorist, and inker on ten issues, primarily for the humor magazine *Judge*, with his work appearing from 1914 to 1927. While his pin-up work defined his legacy, Bolles was a more wide-ranging illustrator than his later reputation suggests. He died in 1976 at age 93.
