Enea Riboldi
Enea Riboldi (3 August 1954 – 8 May 2025) was an Italian comics artist and illustrator whose work bridged the Italian and French markets. Born in Italy, he spent much of his career contributing to publishers such as Éditions Larousse, Casterman, Dargaud, and Glénat Éditions. His most sustained output appeared in series like *Cap Horn*, *De Zeearend*, *L'aigle des mers*, and *Collectie Pilote*, as well as *Gli Albi di Orient Express*, where he served as artist, colorist, and inker on fifteen issues between 1988 and 2020. Riboldi is perhaps best known for his collaboration with writer Stéphane Germain on the two-volume *L'Encyclopédie humoristique de la voile* (2002–2003), a playful reference work that showcased his clean line and knack for clear, lively storytelling. His style favored crisp compositions and expressive character work, well suited to adventure and maritime themes. Riboldi died in Milan on 8 May 2025, at the age of 70, leaving behind a modest but respected body of work that reflects the cross-border vitality of European comics.
