Didier Tarquin
Didier Tarquin, born 20 January 1967 in Toulon, France, is a cartoonist and writer best known for co-creating the fantasy series *Lanfeust of Troy*. He spent his first decade in the Sahara desert town of Touggourt, Algeria, an experience that later informed his vivid, sunbaked fantasy worlds. He decided to become a cartoonist after attending a summer camp focused on comics, and his professional career began in 1990 with Soleil Productions. Tarquin achieved widespread recognition in 1994 when he launched *Lanfeust of Troy* alongside writer Christophe Arleston, for which he served as artist and inker. The series became a cornerstone of French fantasy comics, noted for its energetic linework, expressive characters, and detailed, adventurous settings. Over a career spanning from 1994 to 2023, Tarquin has been credited on 88 issues, with his most frequent titles including *Lanfeust von Troy*, *Lanfeust de Troy*, and *Lanfeust der Sterne*. His collaborations with Arleston remained central to his output, and his later work continued to explore the *Lanfeust* universe. While he has not received major international awards, his contributions have earned him a lasting place in European comics, influencing a generation of fantasy artists.
