Dennis Worden
Dennis Worden is an American cartoonist best known for creating the offbeat comic book *Stickboy*, which follows the existential adventures of a stick figure. Born in the United States, Worden emerged in the early 1980s as a frequent contributor to Robert Crumb's *Weirdo* anthology and the *Rip Off Comix* series. He also holds the unique distinction of being the only male cartoonist to contribute to the all-female underground anthology *Tits & Clits Comix*.
His signature work, *Stickboy*, ran for eight issues across multiple publishers, including Fantagraphics, Revolutionary Comics, Starhead Comix, and Carnal Comics, from 1988 to 2005. Worden also created other self-published titles such as *Slur*, *Bongo Dick*, and *Suburban Teens On Acid*, as well as *Pedestrian Vulgarity* for Fantagraphics and *Acidboy* for Starhead Comix. He developed the character The Floating Skull, which appeared in *Heavy Metal Monsters* and even made a fictional appearance on the David Letterman show.
In 1993, Worden produced a *Stickboy* music video featuring songs by the English punk band Rancid Hell Spawn. He later appeared in the 2005 documentary *Unauthorized and Proud Of It*, which chronicled the history of Rock 'N' Roll Comics. Worden's work remains a cult touchstone in alternative comics, celebrated for its raw, minimalist style and irreverent humor.
