Cyril Pedrosa, born 22 November 1972 in France, is a comic book artist, colorist, and writer whose work balances lyrical storytelling with expressive, fluid visuals. He entered the field in the late 1990s, gaining early notice for his clean linework and rich palette. Pedrosa is best known for his graphic novel *Portugal*, a semi-autobiographical meditation on identity and belonging, and for *Drei Schatten* (published in English as *Three Shadows*), a haunting fable about loss and protection. His signature style combines elegant, almost calligraphic line art with subtle, moody coloring, often exploring themes of memory, family, and displacement. He frequently collaborates with writer and colorist, though he also writes his own material. Pedrosa co-created the series *Ring Circus* and the historical fantasy *Das Goldene Zeitalter* (also known as *L'âge d'or*), the latter a richly imagined reworking of the Golden Age myth. His later work includes *Jäger und Sammler*, a contemplative look at human connection. Pedrosa has received multiple awards, including the Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Album for *Portugal*. His legacy lies in his ability to blend European bande dessinée tradition with a deeply personal, modern sensibility.
